I haven’t posted since last year. If you’ve been following my blog (and still are), I apologize—I’ve been kept busy with various things.

Earlier this year, I decided to pick up a new hobby—shaving. I initially thought it might be an inexpensive hobby, but it has turned out otherwise (inexpensive hobby—oxymoron?).

I haven’t had the time to pursue photography regularly lately, but shaving is still something that I do everyday. It’s become, dare I say, enjoyable since I picked up what some would call “wet shaving”. Certainly, it’s not without it’s nicks and cuts, but on the whole, it’s a pleasurable and relaxing experience.

Approaching it as a hobby, I’ve amassed an entire collection of razors, brushes, creams and soaps. The variety out there is amazing. Singapore, unfortunately, is by and large consumed by the latest wonder-multiblade-goo-gel products from Gillette and Schick. I’ve resorted to buying most of my supplies online.

Pictured above is a Merkur Futur safety razor, a Rooney 3/1 “Super” Silvertip shaving brush, and a bowl of D. R. Harris Arlington shaving soap.

Oh, and I’m not quitting photography. :)

  2. Ah!
I have my Merkur Futur for some 15 years now (no, not a shelf queen ;-) ). Imagine how much waste I would have produced having used those “modern” multi-blade razors…

    Cheers,
    Uwe
